Blue Sapphire Pendant

An old friend contacted me with a request to make a pendant for her using a Sapphire from Sri Lanka that she had for many years.  This was a large stone,  a lovely clear colour blue which was going to make a beautiful pendant.  The preference was for simplicity and knowing my friend it would suit her to have an antique style.  She chose 18ct White Gold which goes well with blue stones and a coronet setting with many claws.  As she was to wear the pendant on a fine chain the bail was made to that scale and the decoration above the stone engraved to catch the light.
