Unstamped Gold Jewellery

I regularly receive items of gold that are not stamped with a carat weight, such as 9ct or 375, 18ct or 750. These come from inheritances and are sometimes made in countries such as Sri Lanka where the British settled. This does not necessarily mean they are not of value!!!!! So do not throw them out before you let me have a look as you never never know!!! I do a simple test to see their gold weight. It is fairly easy with a trained eye to distinguish solid Gold such as the above from Gold-plate.
