Gold Coin Pendant

This Roman coin was minted in 116-120AD with the Emperor Hadrian on one side with the reverse showing his wife Sabina and their two children.  It was forgotten in my bottom draw for 20 years and finally came to light to be made into this traditional coin setting.  The setting has a twist around the edge and the border was stamped with a design in keeping with the age of the coin.  Making sure the stamping was even was really important.  The reverse was set and stamped in a different way to support the feminine side and can be worn either front or back.

The 18ct Yellow Gold came from a ring that was not to my liking so was re-cycled into this very favourite item that I feel connects me with ancient times with its lovely patina.
